Sculpting Modelling Rendering
Sad Robot — Maxon, 2013

FIG. 01 — Sad Robot, 3d, 2013

Client

Maxon

Year

2013

Scope

3D Illustration

Promotional artwork created for the release of Cinema 4D R15, and the expanded sculpting tools introduced in that version. The image was designed to show that sculpting was no longer limited to organic forms. The hard-surface sculpting tools made it possible to develop the character much more freely, without first having to construct a carefully planned base mesh. Forms and mechanical details could be explored directly, making the process feel closer to sketching.

Stylised robot. Hard surface and shiny
